Description:
A well constructed cattle byre (luak) in a village homestead.
Such byres were constructed by making a wall of wooden stakes and by then joining together long branches to form rafters, which were then thatched.
The thatch of this byre has been tied together at the ends, possibly to stop cattle from eating the ends through the gaps in the stakes whilst housed inside at night.
In the right foreground can be seen a hut of the village type as well as what looks like a firescreen with its hearth filled with water after a shower of rain.
