Description:
An upper body full face portrait of a Bari girl sitting with hands together.
She is wearing strings of beads around the neck and numerous short horizontal lines of cicatrices on her upper arms.
It seems likely that this image was taken shortly before October 1878 when Buchta reached Lado (Juba) on board S.S.
Safia.
