Description:
Three youths, two wearing European-style shirt and shorts, one wearing a body cloth, standing together in an avenue with huts visible beyond.
One of the youths is wearing a T-shirt which says 'Akobo Post Sudan' around the drawing of a hut.
It is possible that this is where the photograph was taken, during Lienhardt's fieldwork among the Anuak.

Biographical Information - Godfrey Lienhardt carried out fieldwork among the Anuak during 1952-1954 as a Research Fellow of the International African Institute, with funding intially provided by UNESCO for the study of African cosmological ideas and social values.
He later wrote a two-part article entitled 'Anuak Village Headmen' (
