Description:
A group of youths sit on the roof of a stake-walled hut, working fronds of palm into a layered thatch. In the foreground is a hearth consisting of three compacted earth mounds between which is balanced a large pottery vessel for cooking. The fire sticks are pushed in through the gaps between the mounds, only burning the ends and thereby making the most of limited fuelwood resources.
