Description:
Jean Buxton's Mandari sergeant, Makelele Nyayo, who was charged with looking after her personal safety, sitting in a room of a large colonial building looking at magazine pictures with a group of Mandari girls.
It seems likely that this is Buxton's own room, with her bed visible to left of frame, into which she has invited this group of girls to look at some magazines.
The girl in the foreground is holding one of the magazine pictures, seemingly showing European children.
