Description:
A Pitt Rivers Museum photograph with scale showing a seven-spiked wooden wheel trap for use in hunting large animals.
When the animal stands in the ring and its leg becomes ensnared in the spikes, a leather attachment keeps the animal from running away.
This image was probably taken at Pitt Rivers Museum soon after its donation and a copy returned to Evans-Pritchard.
However, this object has yet to be identified within the collection by Rachael Sparkes, and so may well not have been finally accessioned, but possibly returned to Evans-Pritchard.

Other Information:
According to Rachael Sparkes the trap is manufactured on a similar premise to that of the Anuak trap also donated by Evans-Pritchard, although the Anuak trap has many more spikes.
