Description:
A full length oblique rear view portrait of a Bari girl standing in a homestead wearing an apron of metal chain links at the front, with a 'tail' of strings behind.
She is also wearing a number of neck ornaments as well as metal wrist and ankle rings.
It seems likely that this image was taken shortly before October 1878 when Buchta reached Lado (Juba) on board S.S.
Safia.
