Description:
A full length profile portrait of a Bari woman wearing a fringed skirt at front and a hide apron behind.
Around her waist is a belt consisting of strings of beads.
She is standing in the same courtyard as that seen in an earlier image of the chief of Gondokoro.
It seems likely that this image was taken shortly before October 1878 when Buchta reached Lado (Juba) on board S.S.
Safia.
