Description:
A view across a dry-season Dinka cattle camp at Bor.
The ashen remains of cattle hearths surrounded by posts can be seen dotted about, helping to keep pests at bay.
A thornwood brush fence can be seen in the foreground and also surrounding the kraal on the far side.
The reference to the Mai clan is obscure, but may simply be a reference to a dry-season (mai) family grouping.
The Seligmans visited villages in the Bor locality in the dry season of 1910, with Archdeacon Shaw acting as guide and interpreter.
