Description:
Simple neck ornament made from a brass rod, slightly oval in section, bent into a loop with open ends, 19 mm apart.
Each end has blunt, flat cut edges.
The loop itself is oval, rather than round, and is slightly distorted in form.
The necklet is complete and intact, with the brass currently a metallic yellow colour (Pantone 872C).
The length across the outside edges is 117 mm, the width across 112.3 mm, and the rod has a diameter of 3.2 x 3 mm.
The object weighs 26.4 grams.
Collected by Percy Horace Gordon Powell-Cotton and his wife Hannah at Navera on 8th April 1933, during a shooting expedition. This neck ornament was worn by women; its local name was not recorded.
