Description:
A member of the Sudan Political Service, identified as Gordon Hickson, sitting in his home at Aweil smoking a pipe and reading. The room interior also contains a large radio player, carved stool and leopard skin rug. Lienhardt visited Hickson during his service in Aweil during 1948-51. Hickson later served at El Obeid (1952) and Malakal (1953-54).
