Description:
A tawny bull-calf (markings known as mayan) tethered to a peg, provided by a spear-master's sister's son, with members of the Pagong and Payi spear-master clans of the Agwok sub-tribe of the Rek Dinka surrounding it. Libation milk is being poured over the tethering peg. The occasion of this sacrifice was the recurring illness of the master of the fishing-spear, this time seemingly brought about by an unclaimed fishing-spear that had turned up in his homestead, said to have been left by a witch.
