Description:
Nuer porters standing next to Thesiger with two large Nile perch caught by H.G. Wedderburn-Maxwell, the District Commissioner. In the background is the Kereri, the steamer used as the floating headquarters for the administration, as well as a large woodfuel pile. Thesiger later wrote that although Wedderburn was 'no great conversationalist, he was enthusiastic on the subject of fishing...'
