Previous PRM Number:
WT.Southern Sudan.4.24

Accession Number:

Description:
Thesiger's hunting trophies from his first treks in Western Nuer District, arranged against a wall on the upper deck of the government steamer Kereri. Thesiger himself stands to the left of the trophies and to the right his Zaghawi servant Idris Daud. The skewed angle of the photograph indicates an untutored eye, and suggests that Thesiger handed the camera to his interpreter Malo to take this commemorative image.
