Description:
The interior of an unidentified colonial home, possibly in Kenya or Uganda, although it is uncertain when or if Buxton visited either country. The central subject of the image is the modernist display cabinet set against the interior wall which incorporates a series of apertures, two of which incorporate windows, into which selected works of African art have been inserted for display. To the right of the display a conventional oil painting of an English landscape hangs on the wall.
