Description:
A Mandari Köbora woman with a white line painted across her eyes seated in the central area of a homestead, churning milk in a gourd container, with other gourd containers dotted about and other women and girls looking on behind. She is wearing a large number of metal coiled armrings. This is one of a sequence of exposures at this gathering, the reason for which is unknown. In general, Köbora women ornamented themselves more excessively than western Mandari women, wearing larger sets of armrings, as well as chain-link aprons with small triangle aprons hung in front and more strings of beads around the neck or waist.
