Description:
A full-length portrait of a Mandari man wearing metal armrings, and an impressive set of rem beads from his waist up to his armpits, forming a 'corset'. These beads, indicating a loosely-defined age set, were worn in numbers depending upon a youth's wealth. In general, the Mandari Köbora men wore more strings of beads around the waist than the Mandari 'Boronga' such as the Dari, but did not have the same age grade system as the latter. In the background is a homestead, with a man carrying a deckchair near a raised hut.
