Description:
A three-quarter length full face portrait of two Mandari youths, looking upwards from a lowered (possibly kneeling) position. The framing of this portrait indicates an awareness by Buxton of artistic portrait techniques in the milieu. The youths are wearing just a few bead strings at the waist and neck, one holds a feather ornamented stick and the other possibly a headrest.
