Description:
An ox lying down next to its tethering post in a kraal, with mottled patterning.
Huts and other homestead activity can be seen beyond, probably at Yakwach camp during Evans-Pritchard's revisit in 1935.
In contrast to his two earlier fieldwork visits when photographing cattle was viewed suspiciously by the Nuer, Evans-Pritchard took numerous record images of them during his later field trips.
