Description:
Several storks perched in a tree with the roofs of a homestead visible beyond. Evans-Pritchard took many images of birds in Nuerland which were a personal interest throughout his life.

Other Information:
Although this image is labelled Western Jikany country, a similar image on the same film is identified as Jikul country - the two probably overlap since the former is a tribal territory and the latter a lineage probably dominant where E-P was working and hence known as such. [Chris Morton 8/6/2004]
