Description:
A man holds the head of a tethered milking cow whilst a woman attempts to milk it. The cow's calf has died and so a tulchan (a word originating from Gaelic), a dummy of the calf made from its skin, is placed next to the cow for it to smell. This widespread practice among cattle keepers seems to result in the lactation of the calf's mother, in combination with blowing up the animal's uterus.
