Description:
A horizon of grass savannah, with smoke rising from grass-firing. Evans-Pritchard took numerous photographs of vegetation to document changes in the cattle-keeping environment during his fieldwork. The firing of grass was done to promote new shoots for cattle to eat during the dry season.
