An upper body portrait of a man wearing a feather in a beaded headband, with a homestead in the background. He is described as a man of western Nuerland, probably a Karlual, one of the main sections of the Leek tribe where Evans-Pritchard spent some 7 weeks, mostly at Nyueny village.
