Description:
A three-quarter length portrait of a youth wearing earrings standing next to the Sobat River, his hair treated with ash, fashioned into the shape of a horn. Another youth stands next to him, partially out of frame. Evans-Pritchard spent some 4 weeks in 1935 among the Gaajok tribe living at Mancom village at the mouth of the Nyanding River, the home village of his servant Tiop.
