Description:
The base of a cattle byre (luak) consisting of numerous upright branches plastered with mud on the outside. On top of this would be constructed rafters to form a large roof. Such byre (luak) s were built and renewed during the dry season. Bundles of millet stalks seem to have been employed for the horizontal strengthening of this byre (luak), and so it was possibly located in western Nuerland where there is less forest. Such millet bundles might also have been used for the rafters.
