Description:
A close-up portrait of a seated leopard-skin priest (Kuaar Muon) sitting with other men.
To the left can be seen the left arm of a man wearing a metal badge tied to his arm, embossed with a shield and crossed spears.
This seems to be the badge worn by native policemen (see 1998.355.101).
The leopard-skin priest was a ritual rather than political authority, and acted as arbiter in disputes and in ritual activities such as spirit possession and sacrifice.
