Description:
A number of people gathered some distance away, some dancing, bringing towards the camera an ox used in the payment of bridewealth. Quite frequently the full amount of bridewealth agreed upon was not transferred before the ceremonies took place, and so this ox may represent the last animal agreed upon before the wedding ceremony could take place, rather than the last ox of the agreed bridwealth.
