Description:

Two boys leaning on sticks herding goats along a stony path, with palm vegetation, towards a larger track cleared of rubble, possibly for motor transport. Predominantly pastoral, the Ingessana kept their herds of cattle, sheep and goats at grazing grounds often large distances (Evans-Pritchard estimates up to 3 or 4 hours) from their hill habitations, but kept pigs in the villages.
