Looking down through trees at huts of an Aka settlement built on a flat area on the rocky hill. The language of the Aka people of Jebel Sillok is part of the Berta group of languages. They called themselves Fa-c-aka or people of Aka.

Evans-Pritchard notes that 'all the huts are built on the top of the hill wherever a flat peice of rock gives sufficient basis for building mud walls on which a conical straw roof is mounted.'
