A group of men seated in the shade at Ukaadi village. One man is smoking a large gourd water pipe, and a smaller one sits on the ground. The village is noted by Evans-Pritchard as the residence of a noble called Akwei-war-Alal, who may be one of the seated men.

A genealogy of Akwei-war-Alal, a noble of Ukaadi village, is given on page 148 of E. E. Evans-Pritchard's The Political System of the Anuak of the Anglo-Egyptian Sudan (monographs on Social Anthropology no.4, London School of Economics, 1940). On page 115 he also notes that three nobles are living in Akwei's village of Ukaadi in 1935 [Chris Morton 5/1/2004]
