The interior of a compound in the village of Burathoi in Nyikaani on the Akobo, with the wooden structure of a hut before thatching visible. The walls are of woven grass and the roof extends beyond them supported on stakes forming a narrow vernadah around the house for shade and to keep the rain away from the walls.
