Description:
A Pitt Rivers Museum photograph of a carved bowl, donated to the museum by E. E. Evans-Pritchard, probably in the early 1930s. Many of the carved objects donated were probably made by Kisanga, one of Evans-Pritchard's more significant informants, and a renowned wood carver in the region.

In Witchcraft, Oracles and Magic Among the Azande (OUP, 1937) page 66 E. E. Evans-Pritchard notes that 'one of my chief informants, Kisanga, was a skilled woodcarver, one of the finest carvers in the whole kingdom of Gbudwe.'
