A portrait of a seated man (identified as Bitarangba) wearing a straw hat and magic whistle. He has been mutilated in the past, at the elbow on the left arm and just below the elbow on the right. There is a possibility that his ears have been mutilated also. Such acts were carried out in pre-colonial times, often on suspicion of adultery.
