Description:
Slightly oval annular armlet carved into a ring from a single piece of light yellowish brown wood (Pantone 466C). All surfaces are flat, with the outer face being slightly polished and better finished than the inner face, which is somewhat irregular. There are traces of a reddish brown material in patches on the outer surface (Pantone 478C), possibly ochre, and a darkened area which may be the result of slight burning. The object is complete and intact, with possible traces of wear on the inside and outside edges. It has a length of 100 mm and a width of 99 mm, with measurements across the inner edges being 77 by 74 mm. The thickness of the ring varies from 10 to 13 mm, and it has a height of 27.5 mm and a weight of 41.9 grams.

Collected by Percy Horace Gordon Powell-Cotton and his wife Hannah at Logoforok on 16th February 1933, during a shooting expedition.

This armlet was worn on the upper arm, and was called
naklul by the Lango.
