A full length portrait of an ash-covered youth standing in a homestead looking away from the camera, a younger boy and a man visible to the right of the frame. He is holding a stick with a tassel attached to the top. He is probably a Karlual youth, one of the main sections of the Leek tribe of western Nuerland, and where Evans-Pritchard spent some 7 weeks, mostly at Nyueny village.
