Description:
Looking back towards the river steam boat on which Evans-Pritchard travelled along the Nile, which has stairs to an upper deck.
Alongside it is a smaller steam launch called Farashah.
The image was taken at Adok, where Evans-Pritchard arrived on 1st October 1936 after making a survey of the Luo of Kenya.
He then moved on to spend most of his time among the Leek.
