Description:

A dark head and shoulders portrait of a man wearing a headband and body cloth, with a large river in the background (probably the Sobat) and a woman with ear ornaments looking on to the left. It was probably taken during July 1935 whilst Evans-Pritchard spent 4 weeks at the mouth of the Nyanding River among the Eastern Jikany, especially at Mancom village.
